Outline Description of Module
Social psychology attempts to describe and explain the impetus behind our social interactions. This course provides an opportunity to introduce the student to the principles of social psychology and to give a reference point to explore, explain and predict behaviours we are already familiar with. Students will develop their ability to understand and critically evaluate the motivation of these behaviours.
To introduce students to the concept of a social psychological perspective and its relevance to the understanding of human nature and to the way in which human beings construct their opinions to fit preconceived ideas. To enable the learner to develop effective studying styles and to apply knowledge to the real world and personal life experience.
